About me

Alicia De Toro

I am one of the few foreigners certified as a Japanese Tea Instructor, Japan’s only quality-controlled certification in this field, and a member of the Japanese Tea Instructor Association.

Throughout a global career in art, fashion, and international relations, Japan has always been a part of my life, and since 2014 Tokyo has been my home.

My love for Japanese tea and craftsmanship has taken me on journeys across the country to gain an authentic understanding of its unique culture, which I share through

The Japanese Tearoom.

Join me to experience authentic Japan,

over a cup of tea.

About Japanese tea
& craftsmanship

Japanese culture,

told differently.

Have you tasted Japan's latest tea cultivars, its unique black teas, or its teas designated as cultural property?

Did you know that Japanese craftsmanship is protected by law and deeply connected to samurai culture?

Matcha and the tea ceremony are only a fragment of Japanese culture.

Explore the worlds of Japanese tea and craftsmanship with me, and discover how their beautiful culture is woven into the history and geography of Japan.
